The orphanage home “Ananda Bhavan” started its journey in January 2012 with 7 orphan and single parent children.
Over the time more children joined and now there are 39 children of various ages are moving towards success. By fostering an atmosphere of care, learning, and happiness, these children are empowered to reach their full potential and make a meaningful impact on the world around them.
Despite being first generation learners, these children have not only learned to read and write, but have also developed a wide range of skills that were previously unimaginable. Senior batch studies in Class-XII attend the Government school, while junior batch studies in Jr. Kg to Class- VIII attend our own South Calcutta Public School.
They are now proficient in singing, dancing, and playing musical instruments. Additionally, they can confidently recite and perform on stage. Some of them are also honing their athletic abilities in activities like running, javelin, and discus throw.
The children of Ananda Bhavan participated in different types of competition organized by Cognizant Outreach. They have also participated in different interschool competitions, science workshops, and district-level stage performances, and won several prizes.
Some of the children have shown remarkable development in their sport skills and talents. They recently participated in the 37th Annual Athletic Meet organized by the South 24 Parganas District Sports Association 2023, held in Baruipur.
