The Foundation has been the dream of Dr. Nalinaksha Biswas, a former academic, who earned his Doctoral Degree (PhD.) in Environmental Control, Heat & Mass transfer in deep underground galleries from Nottingham University in England.
Dr. Biswas, born in Sylhet in 1938, relocated to Calcutta with his family. He remembers the struggles of displaced individuals after partition, particularly the difficulties faced by underprivileged children. This experience instilled in him a strong desire to help underprivileged children, particularly those who are orphaned.
He outlined his ambitions to provide food & accommodation to care for the underserved children who are deprived, abandoned or from single parents. He also established a school to educate them.
At The Biswas Educational Foundation we run a Home for Destitute Children for residential accommodation of deprived and single-parent children belonging to the underprivileged section of the society.
To support the well-being of those in need, including the disadvantaged, destitute, impoverished, orphaned or single parent children from the less fortunate sections of our community.
A world where every orphan and single-parent child has access to a supportive community, quality education and resources to thrive, ensuring they grow into confident and capable individuals who positively impact society.
